Herbs
Herbs and humankind have been interlinked for most of history, until in the 1600's herbalism was separated into Botany and Medicine.  Much ancient herbal lore has been disproved by modern science while much of it has been proven to be truly efficient in treating diseases and health problems.

It is well to note that over 80% of the worlds population uses herbs not only for medicine, but also cosmetics and edibles as well.

The list below is my own personal study into common plants that have important modern uses in our everyday lives.

*Please note: Always consult a certified herbalist or doctor first and always do research before using any herbs. This list is intended for intellectual purposes only. No responsibility for ill effects will be taken by Shawangunk Horticulture.
